Red Tiger’s Fruit Snap Online Slot is an 8x8 reel, high volatility title with cluster pays. The large grid features classic fruit machine symbols that form winning combinations in groups and vanish, allowing more symbols to appear in their place, potentially triggering chains of wins. Each symbol has a meter that fills up to give you winning boosts, and the game’s bonus features include free spins. This game is available across all platforms.

Load up the game to discover the 8x8 playing grid and the various buttons which you use to control the action. The spin button is very easy to find in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. You can spin manually or set Autoplay to spin for you up to 100 times. Over in the left corner is the bet size control, which you can tap to view the various options.
In the top left corner of the screen is where your current balance is displayed. On the opposite side of the screen, you’ll find the speaker icon, which lets you toggle the sound on and off. There’s also an option to enter fullscreen or windowed mode.
Below the bet button, you can open up the help page or check the paytable. This tells you all the information on the game, including RTP, payouts, rules and symbols.
As you’d expect from a game that’s heavily inspired by classic fruit machines, Fruit Snap features plenty of classic symbols, with fruit, lucky sevens and much more. There are eleven in total, divided into five low pays, five premium symbols and the scatter, which triggers the free spins.
The low pays consist of various fruits, which will payout in clusters of five or more. The cherries pay 10x your stake for 30 or more symbols in a cluster, the strawberries pay 12x, the lemons pay 15x, the oranges pay 17x, and the watermelons pay 20x.
Premium symbols continue the classic theme but with no fruit. The dice pay 30x your stake for 30 or more in a cluster, the stars pay 50x, the bells pay 100x, the diamonds pay 200x, and the lucky 7s pay 777x.
This is a cluster pays slot, so rather than using paylines, you simply need to land matching symbols in a group anywhere on the reels. Five or more symbols in a cluster will payout based on your stake and the value of the symbol. To form a cluster, these symbols need to be placed on adjacent reels, horizontally or vertically.
Each time you land a win, all of the symbols involved in that cluster are removed from the reels to make way for new ones to fall down from above. Just like your favourite avalanche slots, this can quickly lead to consecutive wins if you’re lucky.
Aside from being removed from the playing grid, winning symbols are also added to their matching meter above the reels. The meter resets each time you hit the spin button, but filling the meter with twenty or more symbols will trigger a bonus feature.
Matching twenty of the same fruit symbols on a single spin will remove that fruit from the reels for the current spin and all subsequent chain reactions. This increases your chance of landing high-paying symbols on the reels.
Matching at least twenty of one premium symbol on a single spin triggers the double win upgrade. During the same spin, that specific symbol will now be worth twice as much as usual. This would mean the lucky seven is now worth 1,554x your bet for a cluster of 30+.
Land 3 bonus symbols anywhere on the reels to receive five free spins. While the feature is active, the meters will not reset, so any lower-value symbols that are removed will be removed for the duration of free spins. The upgraded higher-paying symbols will stay upgraded until the end of the round. You can retrigger the free spins with five extra spins when you land an additional three bonus symbols.
It’s possible to win up to 3,500x your stake from a single spin while playing Fruit Snap. If you’re playing at the max stake of $20, you could potentially win $10,000. Your best chance of triggering the top prize is during the free spins round, where you’re more likely to hit multiple double win upgrades.
Before playing any slot, it’s worth checking the RTP and volatility rates. These affect the frequency and size of the payouts, with higher RTP rates meaning the game will typically payout more often. This slot has an RTP rate of 94.68%, which is a bit below the average for online slots. Meanwhile, the volatility is high, which implies that wins are less frequent, but the payouts can be higher.
Of course, your experience playing Fruit Snap can vary depending on your luck. When I gave the slot a spin, I encountered some decent wins and even managed to trigger the free spins bonus. On another day, I may not have made the same returns, but that’s just the nature of online slots.
This may be inspired by classic slots, but the graphics are fresh, and the animations and visuals look great. The funky soundtrack also helps to add to the experience, making it a lot of fun to play. Sure, the symbols themselves may not be creatively designed, but I love the classic look, and they’ve at least been updated to look modern and shiny.
The animations that play with each spin help to illustrate the game and bring the symbols to life, especially when you trigger chain reaction wins and fill the meters. The end result is a game that’s very easy to play and simple in appearance while still providing lots of fun.
You can enjoy Fruit Snap for free by playing the demo. The free version works exactly the same as the real money game, only you won’t have to risk your own cash, and you won’t be able to win real money either. Still, it gives you an excellent opportunity to test out the cascades, free spins and meter bonus. Once you’ve had a few spins, you can decide for yourself whether or not you want to play for real.
There’s an abundance of fruit slots out there. The classic fruit machine is perhaps one of the most popular of all online slot themes, and the simplicity attracts a lot of different players. I love it when developers take the tried and tested fruit machine formula and add some new features to it. Here are some of the best examples:
Fruit Snap slot delights with charming old-school aesthetics and easy-going classic slot gameplay. The large grid works well with the fruit machine symbols, and there is a constant stream of eye-catching animations as winning symbols fill their respective meters. The game has a forgiving nature, so wins do land fairly regularly, although I found that the bonus round was the only place where I could land sizeable wins.
The slot’s top prize is a modest $10,000, which is surprising, considering the game’s high volatility. If Fruit Snap is too tame for your taste, why not try out Juicy Joker Mega Moolah for a life-altering progressive prize or the ultra-stylish Deco Diamonds Deluxe?
