Most symbols in Gorilla Mayhem feature animals found in particular jungles, but even the standard royals fit the theme as they’re wrapped in vines. Speaking of royals, these pay the minor prizes: the ten and J are worth up to 1x your stake, while the Q and K pay up to 1.20x. The A offers up to 1.50x your bet, as does the snake.
The parrot and hippo symbols award 2.50x your bet for five each, but the crocodile and leopard offer more at 3x your stake for 5. The gorilla is the top-paying symbol: get 5 to win 4x your bet.

Gorilla Mayhem has 1,024 ways to win on each spin—landing matching symbols on adjacent reels from the first reel awards a prize. Almost every standard symbol pays out for three or more in a combo, but the gorilla awards wins for two or more.
Gorilla Mayhem has two bonus features: Golden Gorilla symbols and a Free Spins feature.
The Wild symbol can land on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5. It substitutes for every symbol except the Scatter.
In the base game, three golden gorilla symbols may appear randomly on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5. All golden gorillas are a substitute for the standard gorilla symbol.
Each of the three Golden Gorilla symbols has its multiplier:
The multiplier applies to all winning combos that feature a standard gorilla symbol or a Golden Gorilla.
Land 3, 4, or 5 Scatter symbols to win 10, 15, or 20 free spins, respectively. This bonus round has a progressive feature: all gorilla symbols and Golden Gorillas are collected. As you reach higher levels, the Golden Gorilla symbols carry higher multipliers.
The feature starts in level 1, and Golden Gorillas can have an x1, x2, or x3 multiplier at random. In level 2, these symbols will have an x2 or x3 multiplier (selected randomly) instead. You’ll also receive three more free spinsfor reaching this level.
However, in level 3, Golden Gorilla symbols only have a x3 multiplier. You’ll also win another three free spins.
After you reach level 3, all remaining free spins are played out at this level, too. If you land 2, 3, 4, or 5 Scatters during the feature, you’ll win 5, 10, 15, or 20 extra free spins, respectively.
If you want to instantly trigger the Free Spins feature, you can buy it for 80x your bet. The feature will randomly trigger with three, four, or five Scatters.
Gorilla Mayhem’s max win is capped at 5,000x your bet. That’s a potential payout of $500,000 when playing at the highest stake. However, the chances of claiming the top prize are very slim, even with help from the bonuses.
As with many other Pragmatic Play slots I’ve tried, Gorilla Mayhem’s Return to Player (RTP) is far higher than the 96% industry average: 96.50%. However, this is only a theoretical return based on a long testing period, and your returns could be much lower or higher.
Gorilla Mayhem is highly volatile. While the bigger payouts are likely sporadic at best, I managed to rack up a few winning spins when I played the game. Of course, most were very small.
