Excalibur, King Arthur’s legendary sword, is the Scatter and Wild Scatter symbols. The Scatter triggers the Free Spins feature and pays 1,000x your bet for 5. But the Wild Scatter awards Excalibur Free Spins and up to 10,000x your stake.
If you land matching symbols across an active payline, you’ll win a prize on the paytable. The royal symbols award prizes for three or more on a payline. But the rest of the standard symbols payout for two or more. Wild Scatters is a substitute for all other symbols in the Free Spins, and Excalibur Spins features.

Land three or more Scatter symbols to win eight free spins. At the start of each spin, a random symbol will be chosen to become an expanding symbol. Whenever that symbol lands during the feature, it will expand to cover the entire reel.
If one of the higher-paying symbols is selected to expand, it can become more accessible, allowing decent wins to be landed.
Scatter symbols become Wild Scatters in the Free Spins round. The Excalibur Spins feature will start if two or more Wild Scatters appear on a free spin. You’ll get one spin for each Wild Scatter.
The expanding symbol chosen in the Free Spins round will be locked until the feature ends. Land two or more Wild Scatters to retrigger the feature and get two extra spins. There’s no cap on how many times you can retrigger Excalibur Spins, so you could keep playing for free for a while.
The Gamble feature is available on any winning spin and lets you wager your prize for a chance to double or quadruple it. Press the ‘gamble’ button to play it or the ‘collect’ button to claim your prize.
The feature starts with a face-down playing card, and you can either try to guess the colour or suit before it’s flipped. Get the colour or suit right to double or quadruple your prize, respectively.
The top prize in Lord Merlin and the Lady of the Lake is generous at 10,000 your stake. Five Wild Scatter, Lady of the Lake, or Merlin symbols will award the maximum win.

The game occurs at the titular lake, with lily pads scattered across the surface and surrounding trees. The setting features impressive detail, but it’s not particularly fun to look at while you play. However, the symbols, especially the characters and Excalibur, are more colourful and easy on the eye. Animations bring Merlin and the Lady of the Lake to life while featuring on a winning line.
The music is relaxing in the base game but becomes more dramatic during the bonus features.
