Behold the mighty Norse god of thunder in Power of Thor Megaways! Play with up to 117,649 ways to win and the chance to get multiple payouts on the same spin (thanks to the ever-popular Tumble feature).
The top prize in Power of Thor Megaways is 5,000x your bet, so it’s not the top-paying Megaways slot on the market, but there’s still a lot to like. You can add more Wilds to the reels with the Hammer feature (it wouldn’t be a Thor game without his trusty Mjölnir), and there are free spins with increasing multipliers up for grabs, too.

Power of Thor Megaways’ interface and controls should feel familiar if you’ve played other Megaways games. Most of the buttons you need are at the bottom of the screen, except for the ‘Buy Free Spins’ button on the left-hand side of the reels. The Megaways counter in the top-right corner shows the current ways to win.
Push the Spin button to start playing, or use the Autoplay button below it to program as many as 1,000 automated spins. Use the ‘+’ and ‘-’ buttons next to the Spin button to set up your bet.
I recommend that you check the paytable before you dive in, though. This shows the symbol values and explains the bonuses. To open the paytable, tap the ‘i’ button.
As you’ll probably expect from the title, Power of Thor Megaways’ symbols have a Nordic theme. There are five standard symbols: a Wild, a Hammer, and a Scatter. The size of the symbols can vary.
The 9, 10, and J symbols pay 0.60x, 0.80x, and 0.90x your stake for 6, respectively. The K pays up to 1.25x, and the A awards 1.50x max.
The female warrior (possibly Sif?) pays 2x your stake for 6, while the red-haired male warrior pays up to 2.50x. The brown-haired male warrior is worth more at 5x your bet for 6. But Thor himself is the top symbol, though he still doesn’t pay much — just 20x your stake for 6.
In most cases, Power of Thor Megaways pays out for three, four, five, or six matching symbols landing on adjacent reels. Thor is the only symbol that pays out for two or more.
The Wild symbol substitutes for all other symbols except the Hammer and Scatter. It can land on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5, but only on the extra reel at the top of the screen.
All symbols in a winning combinationvanish and get replaced by new ones that fall in from above. This can give you a new win on the same spin, and there’s no limit to the number of Tumbles.
The Hammer symbol fills two horizontal positions and hits on the top reel above reels 2 to 5 only. All symbols below the Hammer symbol turn into Wilds.
Match four or more Scatters anywhere to form the word “THOR” and trigger the Free Spins feature. You’ll get 10, 14, 18, 22, 26, or 30 free spins for 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 Scatters, respectively. If you win 10 - 18 free spins, you can gamble to win more with a quick wheel spin.
The feature starts with an x1 win multiplier but increases by 1 for each Tumble, which keeps going until the end of the round. You can retrigger the bonus with three more Scatters, and the Hammer feature is available, too.
If you want to, you can instantly trigger the Free Spins feature for 100x your bet.
The max win in Power of Thor Megaways is much lower than the top payouts available in other Megaways slots: 5,000x your stake. That’s still pretty decent overall, but after massive wins, you might want to check out another Megaways slot. For example, Wheel of Fortune Megaways can pay more than 80,000x bets.
Power of Thor Megaways has a 96.55% RTP, which is better than the slot average and can increase to 96.97% with the Buy Free Spins feature.
With the high volatility, payouts on the larger side can be pretty sporadic. Still, I managed to land wins often with a $1 stake, usually once every few spins. But payouts could be meagre unless Tumbles kicked in and chained a few wins together on the same spin.
Slots with a Norse theme tend to be visually attractive, and Power of Thor Megaways has a solid design. It’s not the most exciting slot I’ve ever played, but the graphics are sharp, detailed, and colourful.
The character symbols look impressive when they feature in a winning combo and become animated. The background shows a field with swaying trees, runestones, and massive snow-covered mountains in the distance. Power of Thor Megaways’ music is epic, and the sound effects are fun, too.

You can try plenty of other Megaways slots beyond Power of Thor Megaways. One excellent option is Monopoly Megaways, based on the beloved board game. It offers a max win of 14,700x your bet and incorporates property collecting for that classic Monopoly feel.
Another slot with the potential for very generous payouts is Break Da Bank Again Megaways — you could win up to 24,185x your bet. It boasts Rolling reels, Wild Multipliers, and two free spins features.
And if you want another option, how about Joyful Joker Megaways? This slot has a possible max payout of 23,000x your bet, with Rolling Reels, free spins, and more.
Power of Thor Megaways might not be the most original or captivating Megaways slot out there, but I still had fun with it. The visuals and sound are impressive, and I’m always happy to see the Tumble feature show up. I liked the Hammer feature, too. The Free spins round is another excellent addition, with increasing multipliers and the option to gamble your initial set of spins to win more of them.
The only issues are the low symbol values and the max win of 5,000x your bet, which is smaller than in some other Megaways games. But it’s still a good release and worth a look — try our demo to test Power of Thor Megaways today!
